Jeremy Gordon named Defensive MVP, highlighting 13 All-Stars for Invaders

The Fargo Invaders led all teams with 13 NEFL All-Stars, highlighted by league Defensive MVP Jeremy Gordon.

The Northern Elite Football League is comprised of 10 teams throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, & Fargo.  The Invaders joined the NEFL this year, after playing for 3 years in the Northern States Football League – where they won two Championships.  Fargo was co-Champions of the West Division ending league play with a 6-2 record, including a 14-0 win over the St Paul Pioneers.  Going back to 2005, this is the only shutout of record against the Pioneers who had won the last 7 Elite Bowl championships.

The Invaders had 6 Offensive All-Stars, 6 Defensive All-Stars, and their Kicker to go along with the NEFL Executive of the Year.

NEFL Executive of the Year:

Matt Petznick – Invaders President & Northern Elite Football League Webmaster

 

Petznick adds, “Though we didn’t end the season how we would’ve liked, it’s great to see our players get so much recognition and truly highlight the success we’ve had in our first year in the Northern Elite Football League.”  When asked about the Executive of the Year award he said, “It’s an honor to be recognized by the league.  I don’t see this as a personal award, but as a Team Award.  We have what I think is the best staff in the league, so this award recognizes their selfless dedication and the accomplishments they’re able to achieve.”  Matt also runs the northernelitefootball.com site as well, writing and publishing a majority of the content.
