The Minnesota Storm of the Midwest Premier Football League (MPFL) have notified the Fargo Invaders they will not be making the trip to Fargo on July 14th, and will be forfeiting the game.
Anyone with tickets to the game can redeem them the following week July 21st at 6pm in the game vs Minnesota Vipers at Shanley High School.
This was going to be the first time the Invaders played across the river in Moorhead, MN. “It is unfortunate that this game is being canceled,” said team President Matt Petznick, “We were really looking forward to expanding within the F-M metro and giving our Moorhead fans a game in their backyard.”
The Storm are a first year team based out of Maple Grove, MN playing in the MPFL. This forfeit will bring the Invaders to 2-0 vs the MPFL this year, as Fargo beat the Minnesota Mud Dawgs 42-0 to start the season; the Mud Dawgs are undefeated in the MPFL.
