Armory Event Center

The Armory was home to the first National Guard Armory in Moorhead from the early 1920's to the early 1930's. The building was used for drills, training, storage and meetings. Its grand opening dance was September 2, 1922. In 1932, a downpour flooded the basement while it was being used for an event. In addition to that flood damage, the building required a substantial amount of work and repair. The Minnesota National Guard decided the building was unfit for the military so they built a new armory building on 3rd Avenue South in Moorhead. The original Armory was sold "as-is" in the mid 1930's and was later used as an auto dealership until around 2008. It then sat empty...until now after the completion of a complete remodel of the building. Come take a look inside.
