Xcel Holiday Lights Parade

The Annual kick-off to the holidays is the Holiday Lights Parade presented by the Downtown Community Partnership and sponsored by Xcel Energy.

This parade attracts thousands of spectators and includes hundreds of participants that decorate their entries with lights. This magical evening will feature spectacular parade floats, marching units, equestrian entries and the mayors, city council and commission members of Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo.

All entries will be part of the Parade Float Competition and have a chance to win incredible prizes and the honor of being the best float of the year!

Cost

It’s free to show up and watch the parade.

Parade Map

The parade leaves Downtown Moorhead at 6:30 p.m. and continues through Downtown Fargo.

Parking

Roberts Commons: Free for the first 2 hours and Free after 5 p.m.
This garage is right in the heart of all the action. You will be a half block off Broadway and a block away from Winterfest and The Holiday Market.

Civic Center Ramp: $1.50 an hour and free after 5 p.m.
Located just a block off Broadway.

NP Ave Lot: $1 and hour and free after 5 p.m.
There are lots of spaces in this surface lot! Good location if you plan on eating at a Downtown restaurant before the parade.

Island Park Ramp: Free after 5 p.m.
Perfect location to get in and out of Downtown quickly. Just across the street from the beginning of Broadway.

Island Park: Free all day!
Only a few blocks off Broadway located behind the pool. Take 7th street off Main, park by the pool, and walk north.

3rd & 4th Street and Main Ave Surface Lots: Free after 5 p.m.
Right on Main and close to where the parade turns onto Broadway. Limited availability.

Street Parking: 90 minutes free, free after 5 p.m.
You won’t be able to park on Broadway due to the parade but you can search for spots on the side streets and on the blocks off of Broadway.

If you want to register a float, the cost is $150 for businesses or $100 for non-profits. Register here.
