10 team-building activities in Fargo

You’re in Fargo, and you’re looking for ways to build up your team dynamics, work on communication, and have fun doing it. These ten team-building activities are just the ticket.

1. Nature of the North

Get on the rock wall or kilter board at Nature of the North with your team. Rock climbing is a fun way to get active, and with a group, since the entire space is rentable, the gang can feel comfortable trying some different climbs.

The space can accommodate up to 30 climbers at a time (ask NOTN if you have a larger group as they can add on climbers if need be).

2. Escape Room

These ever-popular puzzle rooms are a great way to get your team to work together and problem solve… and Fargo has three different companies you can choose rooms from.

Fargo Escape Room has rooms for as many as 10 participants at a time. The hardest room right now is the “Mystery Meat” room which puts you in the role of a health inspector at Joey’s House of Hotdish.

At Puzzled Escape Rooms, you can reserve all four rooms at once (which hold 40 people total) for an all-out competition of which team can escape first. Themes include a ghost story about Scrooge, Vegas vows, a time machine, a psychic, and more!

3. Scavenger Hunt

We’ve created a city-wide scavenger hunt, to get your team acquainted with all the major spots in Fargo. Have teams go out together or alone, choose if they need to find all or just some of the items, or give prizes for fastest time or best pictures of completed tasks. It’s up to you how you want to run it!

You can also check out Let’s Roam Scavenger Hunts for an app-based hunt through the city.

4. Square One Kitchens cooking classes

Bring your small group or team into a kitchen with a local chef as you prepare something delicious while also connecting with your team during a cooking class.

Square One Kitchens has three team-building options.

The first is cooking together to prepare a delicious meal (for groups of 12 or more).

The second is a cupcake challenge, where teams develop their own custom cupcake and frosting flavor to be judged.

The third is a private cooking class for smaller groups, from 6-12 people.

5. Beer yoga, trampoline party or CrossFit

For a less traditional team-building activity, get everyone out of their comfort zones (and a little active).

Drekker Brewing Company hosts Viking yoga and beer events.

Or, check out Fargo Sky Zone, a trampoline park that frequently hosts corporate team-building events. Get in touch to see the type of bouncy fun they can plan with you.

Another option is CrossFit Icehouse in Fargo, they’ll work with you to build an active team-building event to suit your needs and build the community.

6. Golf or Ice Skating

Set up a golf scramble at one of the many golf courses in the area and have a fun day on the course. Golf can be intimidating to some, try FootGolf at El Zagal for a more relaxed option.

If you’re looking to team-build during the wintertime, opt for an afternoon on an ice rink or attend one of the movie + ice skating events at Broadway Square or The Lights.

7. Volunteer

Like any community, Fargo has plenty of volunteering opportunities that work perfectly for team-building. Whether you want to help out United Way, work at the Great Plains Food Bank, or help out at the Red River Zoo, your team can do good and find a cause that fits your mission.

8. Get crafty

To bring out the creative side in your team, host a Gallery on the Go party. From painting to crafting, it’s a great way to get your group socializing and having fun, plus using their inquisitive right brain.

9. Attend a sports game

Looking for less hands-on entertainment? Just hanging out and socializing at one of Fargo’s top sporting events can be the perfect day out for a team.

In the summer, head to a RedHawks baseball game and rent one of their party decks (max capacity of 300 people), which includes all-you-can-eat hot dogs, pulled pork, bratwurst, potato salad, chips, and water. Plus 12oz draft beers are only $2 for members of your group.

In the winter, a Fargo Force hockey game is just the ticket (pun intended) for a great group outing. Check out their group packages, including rentals of the Bud Light Lounge.

10. Axe Throwing

Ax throwing has been a worldwide phenomenon the last few years and Fargo is now home to two locations to try it out! Bring your group to either Rough Cut Social Club or United States Axe and compete to see who can throw the best axes.

Rough Cut Social Club | 1100 NP Ave, Suite 102, Fargo | (701) 532-2467
United States Axe | 4265 45th St S, Fargo | (321) 200-5155
