The perfect day in Fargo (summer edition)

We asked our Instagram followers what their ideal summer day would include. Here’s what they said:

Breakfast at a Diner

A Midwest staple, diners are for everyone, no matter your taste buds, and we have quite a few options. Just off I-94, Randy’s will have you feeling nostalgic with its leather booth and unlimited refills. The Shack (voted the best breakfast in the area consistently) is another option. You can’t go wrong with any of the others, like CJ’s, Deaner’s, Marge’s, and Kroll’s.

Take a Swim

A summer staple, swimming is a must. Check out the slides at Davies Recreational Pool, Southwest Recreation, Veterans Memorial, and Moorhead Municipal.

Lunch at a Mediterranean Restaurant

Before you know it, it’s lunchtime. Many great Mediterranean Restaurants are popping up in Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo; this is the perfect time to try one. Some of our favorites include Ishtar Mediterranean if you’re downtown. Tati’s Mediterranean Saveur, Cafe Aladdin’s, or GP’s Greek Kitchen if you’re further south or west, and Newroz Kebab or Reese & Riley’s in Moorhead.

Grab a Cider

It seems to be about time for an afternoon drink. Try an experimental cider from Wild Terra. Get a flight choosing from their selections ranging from dry to sweet. They also serve wine, kombucha, and sparkling water. If you want to get a bit outside of town, Cottonwood Cider House is a gorgeous cidery in Ayr, ND.

Dinner from a Food Truck

Food trucks are the peak of summer eating. Whether they’re at a brewery, on Broadway, or milling about, social media will help you locate them. Some of our favorites are Pico, K Dawgs, Detroit Deli, and Mother Cluckers. Which food truck tickles your fancy?

Listen to some Live Music

It’s not summer without live music. Any night you will have multiple options, whether you’re outdoors at a brewery like Fargo Brewing, Drekker, or Swing Barrel; or at the local favorites like Dempsey’s, Rosewild, and Sidestreet.

Summer is thriving; get out there and enjoy. If this itinerary doesn’t do it for you, pick from the other itineraries.
